Counselling is a talking therapy enabling you to work with a professionally trained, impartial and empathic listener. Rather than advice giving, it is about supporting you to know and trust in your true self and find the inner resources for growth and positive change. It is about empowering you to get more of your needs met and restore balance to your life.
For counselling to be effective it is important to attend regularly. This will usually be on a weekly or fortnightly basis at the same time and on the same day, although there is some flexibility for a mutually agreeable arrangement.
Session Length and Fees
Sessions last for 50 minutes and are charged at £45 per session for sessions finishing by 6 pm, and £55 for sessions from 6 pm.
Payment accepted by cash or cheque on the day, or Faster Payments/BACS transfer in advance.
A minimum 24 hours' notice of cancellation is required and, where possible, I will endeavour to offer an alternative appointment for that week. If this notice is not received, I reserve the right to charge in full for the missed session.
Our First Counselling Session
Our first session is a mutual assessment, primarily to explore what has brought you to counselling, what your expectations are, if counselling is appropriate and whether I am the counsellor for you. There is no obligation to proceed.
Ongoing Counselling Sessions
If we decide to work together we will have regular reviews to ensure your needs are being met. I work either short-term for up to 12 sessions or on a longer term basis, depending on your needs and circumstances. However, you can choose to end counselling at any point.
If you have any questions about my practice or would like to make an appointment, please text or phone me on 07938 218967, or click here to email. I will be happy to hear from you and aim to respond within 24 hours, or next working day.
